Allright! Good idea Mike - some sugestions from me would be:

Picsdetails on installing the various kits so you don't have tons of e-mail asking questions. Same with the coil-over stuff. I'm going to have help with mine it looks like but more pics never hurts for someone who doesn't have help or experience. Parhaps some of you experience with wheel fitment etc. for those considering coil-overs would help close sales as well. Details on drilling the 5th lug in the rear would be good too.

That's all I can think of for now but you get the idea. Information on this is hard to come by and having it out there might save you some time later on. I know I've been a PITA :-)

i believe the top caliper is 4runner but the truck also has one of that ribbed design

measure between the pistons and you will find that one is about 1/8" to 3/16" bigger than the other.. you wont be able to see it by eye easily.

when i used new rotors on a car that ALREADY had the conversion done i found out that nice tidbit. i ended up doing like 4runner pads with truck calipers or some combo like that to get it to work with his existing calipers.

THats off my tech article..

The upper unit is the V6 Truck 4x4 unit. The lower unit is a 4 cylinder 4Runner caliper. The V6 unit is about half inch wider, and obviously longer. The pistons are larger diameter. You have to use a 15inch or larger wheel with the upper unit. I also ground a little bit off the outter fin to clear my wheel.

I have the bottom ones..... So I will have problems fitting new pads and Z31 rotors inside those calipers huh?

How much of a problem? Small enough to be able to sand the pads down a hair to slip them in? Or should I look for a pair of the ribbed calipers at the junkyard today?

You won't be able to fit those calipers over the 300zx rotor... the caliper doesn't compensate for the thicker rotor size. I tried to make them work, which was how I came to own one set of each model caliper, but my advice is to buy a set of the ribbed calipers.

OK, cool. I was getting some knick-knacks at my favorite junkyard at lunch just now and they have a pair of the ribbed ones(they still on a 4-runner, not a pick-em-up truck) and they are $50, seems like a good enough price for me!

Those will be fine with the 84-85 hubs and rotors?

The hose fittings are the same I take it? My car came with teflon brake hoses and they fit right onto the smaller non-ribbed calipers just fine it seems.

edit:

And on that note, I have 15x7 panasports, will they fit inside my wheels? They're real panasports if that matters?
