datsun40146
I've just added s12+8 calipers, SS lines, 15/16 MC and a ZX booster. My brakes have little resistance until I press down about 2 inches, then I have good firm brakes. I adjusted the rear brakes with the E-brake reverse method first to try to correct the problem, it really didn't help. So I pulled the drums, the pads are getting a little thin, so I'll replace them before I adjust them manually. Is this rear brake adjustment causing all the play or do I have another problem? I have bleed the brake correctly and in the right order, there is no squishiness, just play with very little resistance and frims up after about 2 inches. The brakes don't suddenly grab after the 2 inches which would be a sign of a improperly adjusted MC, but they don't suddenlt grab, so I don't the MC is my problem. Any Ideas? Pop N Wood
Common problem. You need to lengthen the metal rod that goes from the brake booster and into the back of the MC. The rod has a built in screw that lets you lengthen it. Just adjust it a couple of times until your brakes start to grab at a good pedal height.
