Guest Fulcrum
An HKS Vein Pressure Converter would be a good mod if you can find one. HKS doesn't make them any more but you might be able to find one used. It replaces your entire AFM and then uses a MAP sensor to fake the signal to the ECU. You shouldn't have to do too much more. Just turn up the boost and fuel and you'll have way more power than you need.
Guest kickingriffin
can you give me some more info on this please!!! can i keep my standerd ecu with this? is it hard to wire in? what dose it do? what are the weak links in the RB25det engine? Racinjitter
If you have a ceramic impeller on your turbo dont turn up the boost past 12-14 psi. The ceramic impellers arent meant to spin as fast as a metal impeller.
Guest kickingriffin
yeah have ceramic impeller so have i got to do any think else or can i just turn the boost up to 12psi?
Racinjitter
I believe that you can just turn it up.
Guest kickingriffin
how much can i turn it up too? what psi with out melting a piston? cheers
Racinjitter
you wont melt a piston with the stock turbo. With the right tuning you could probably squeeze 22-28 psi before meltdown.
Guest kickingriffin
will i have to get it re-maped to do this? ive been told i can run max of 12psi boost. when i get her up and running ill let you know how i get on at 10psi. cheers
Evan Purple240zt
You have a high volume pump right? You really need to get some sort of aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. The factory FPR does not have a high enough flow rate to sustain the lph from an aftermarket pump. Do not go above 14psi of boost else the wheels of the turbo disentegrate. You can use a nissan z31 turbo, its simaler size wise but has metal wheels. Set your base timing to 17 intead of 15 degrees. If you blow your motor up thats your problem. I did this before I bought my power FC and it did make the car run better. If you are not familiar with tuning, maybe its a better idea not to. The factory curves are very rich, and alot of power can be had with a good tune and EMS system. Evan
240Z_Master
Come to think of it, I might need a regulator with this 255 Walbro I'm running.

Evan Purple240zt
Yeah if ANYONE is running a big pump replace the regulator. I have an intank walboro pump and I know several people who had problems before swapping to an aftermarket regulator. If you search for the nismo unit your golden. Evan Purple240zt
Me too. I did not find this out personally but its kinda common knowledge over on the 240sx boards. I swapped my FPR when I did my motor swap. There is a post in another thread about your car, some dude says he has a freind who has one for 100 bucks. Thats a good deal.
