boostin280zx
I have 3 datsun transmissions at my house. I can't find a site on the different ratios and what year cars had what transmission. 1 tranny is out of a 82 280zx 2+2 it has L4 on the belhousing. 1 is out of a 76 280z and it has L8 on it. the other one has a L3 on it. Is there anyway to tell what year car the tranny came from or the gearing by the L3, L4, and L8 markings?

boostin280zx
thanks, i took the last trans off of a 1970 datsun 510. The guy i got it from said it was a 280z tranny and it looks just like 1 but i don't know if the 510 trannys look alike. I know they had to notch the floor for the 280z shifter to fit up in the car. Is there another site that shows some kind of way to tell what year the tranny is?
COZY Z COLE
Go to this link...http://zhome.com/ On the left side scroll down and click on Z Technical Documents. Under Documents click on Index of Technical Articles. Go to the right side of the page and scroll to Drivetrain and click on the transmisson links. This info should help you.
