Guest Anonymous
upon removing my rear antisway bar on my 78 parts car i noticed that the springs on the car are Suspension Techniques springs. anyone have opinions on these? and did Nissan ever offer performance struts/shocks for the 280Z cars? the shocks and struts on the car say Nissan on them and it strikes me funny that someone would install performance springs with factory struts/shocks. Guest scca
lots of people in the 80's installed springs to give cars a firmer ride. also 280's in stock trim are basically a 4x4. they are SOOO tall. ST was one of the best brands available then. if you wanted your street car 1.5" lower the proper way was to replace springs not cut the oem ones like a lot of kids did. ------------------ Mike mike@fonebooth.com http://www.fonebooth.com/brakes.html raceparts and brake upgrades. Mikelly
I believe the ST springs are the same spring Motorsport sells under their own brand. They are fine for most Zs, but I thought the rears were a little undersrpung for my taste. Guest Anonymous
I've had ST springs on my 240 since the 80's. I also installed KYB strut cartridges when I did the springs. In stock trim this combo suited me just fine, but since the V8 they do seem a bit soft in the rear (squats a bit) as Mike mentioned earlier. I would eventually like coilovers, but this setup works great for me for now.
