Guest ericw
I'm putting on my white gauge faces and I can't figure out how the speedo and tach needles come off. I tried pulling straight up on them but didn't have any luck (I didn't want to get too rough). Doesn't seem like you can get to them from behind the gauge or anything and I was hoping I didn't have to slice the faces. How'd you guys put yours on? TBK
straight up, mine were a bitch also, carefully put a flat head uner and twist it upward, stay real close to the shaft.
strotter
I made my faces out of that white overhead projector-sort-of-paper-plastic stuff. I had the faces off, but the pins were soldered on. Rather than fight, I just placed them as carefully as possible, gave the face a shove downward (impaling my thumb, be careful if you try it), then cleaned up the torn bits with a razor blade. Worked fine, totally invisible from 12" away.
