proxlamus©
Soo I am *attempting to perfect* the Holset turbo.. and the ZXT actuator.. I had a aluminum bracket and it flexed alot giving me diff boost levels all the time.. so I cut, welded, and grinded down a nice bracket made of steel .. which bolts onto one of the four 17mm bolts holding the turbo onto the manifold.. So I give it some paint.. and hook it up.. on the final minute i go to tighten it down.. and Son of a bitch.. i sheared off the bolt!! DAMNIT!! There is soo little room there is no where else to mount this effn thing.. so I got pissed held it to the brake heat shield and welded it on.. hey it works.. JMortensen
Can't say I'm terribly familiar with what you're doing, but the brake master shield doesn't move with the engine, so if the engine rocks it's going to pull on the rod.
olie05
look a little closer... He welded the bracket he made onto part of the turbo. that bracket holds the wastegate actuator. I think it will work fine.

mobythevan
ha ha, my custom heat shield was mounted to the engine so that would have worked. I know what this is like, I have got stuck re-doing the same thing 3 times to get it right. Don't fret and you'll have it set up right before you know it. 280zwitha383
Noob (atleast to the whole 280zxt engine) question: What intake is that? Is it custom? I know they used one very similar on the pinks build and I thought it was pretty cool.

I know they used one very similar on the pinks build and I thought it was pretty cool. it's a stock n42 non-egr and non webbed intake off of a 75 280z...supposedly the best flowing intake for the L motors. his, like mine and many others on here is shaved down on the top half to get rid of all the unnecessary hook ups
