wardie
Hi All, I am a total noob re the internals of a motor when it comes to modifying one. Can anybody assist me with some info or opinions on what the following cams will do for my L24E motor. As far as I know it's a standard build motor and I am looking at what bolt on power I can use. I do not want something that hates the daily city grind. The cams available to me today are 68, 72 & 74 degree regrinds. Thanks in advance Wardie
wardie
Can no one offer any advice? Have I not supplied enough info or is it not the right info? Should I be asking the vendor for more info? Is there a recommended online source for L series info? Wardie
JMortensen
Need more info. What you've got there tells us nothing. Get lift and duration numbers, lobe separation angles, lift at .050" if they do that in Oz, get all the info you can then we can make a better suggestion. wardie
Ok I'll ask the vendor for the suggested details. Offline I have been told that I should look for a 260Z (L26) cam instead of trying to use one of these regrinds as I have not modded anything else on the motor and the L26 cam is better than the L24. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks Wardie
Guest exa41
hi wardie. the original sss cam 4 cyl is some where between 68 &72 degrees, although the 74 is a little lumpier it will still work with the injection and you wont have any problems with valve clash. If you ring CLIVE Cams in melbourne he will certainly help you. exa41
