Guest HALLOWEEN Z
I've asked questions about this before but I just wanted to confirm from you guys that have or know of a full manual valve body in a 700r4 automatic. I'm not as knowledgable on automatic trannys as I'd like to be, right now I have an I think stage II b&m shift kit and it's great but it will not shift into overdrive at full throttle and there are times when I'd like it to. I've heard that even a factory tranny is supposed to but I've taken it to 6k and it will just stay in 3rd and I let off and get back on it it goes back to 3rd. If I install a full manual valve body will it go into overdrive when I want it to? And also is this going to be terrible for my transmission? Thanks, Nathan
dr_hunt
There is something you have to change in the valve body to get that to work. I can't remember exactly what it is at the moment, but the vette is the only car with a 700R4, that I know of, that you can get full throttle in OD. Cyind
Go to http://www.700r4.com look under the FAQ's Can I run the 700R4 in my car without a computer Wiring made EZ You should see the kit and installation instructions there Also look at the TV Cable Then go from there. I know the PO had mine hardwired and it locks with the shifter!
Guest HALLOWEEN Z
I'll check out the site, the tv cable is pulled all the way out at wot as far as I've read I think thats right. I know its went quite a lot of miles since I finished it and the tranny fluid isn't showing any signs of wearing clutches and it still operates properly
skipzoomie
Mine does the same thing. I wish someone would come up with a definite answer. I've done several 700R4's (4L60) and never had this problem with any of them. I've asked a lot of people this question and have yet to get the fix. Probably something really simple that I've overlooked.
ITSAV6
The vettes and some tpi f bodies would full throttle OD. A manual v body will stay in od. Jegs/Sumit sells the valve for high speed overdrive shifts.
