Need RB20DET Service Manual

Hey all! I am new to this forum--and need some information. I bought a 260z with an RB20DET swapped, and (surprise surprise) blew the head gasket after an hour of driving it. Actually, what happened was that the shop that put a new head gasket on reused the stock head bolts (I was pissed when I found that out).

Anyway, I bought an HKS 1.0mm head gasket and some ARP bolts and am ready to tear it down..but.. I need the FSM since I do not know the torque specs or the tightening sequence. Anyone have an R32 GTS-T service manual in PDF or in book form? I'd really appreciate it! you can email me if you like at fahimthedream2000@yahoo.com.

Thanks!

did you mean they re-used the stock head gasket? because as far as i know, its ok to re-use stock head bolts if they're in good shape.

I think i searched around on google for about 5 mins and was able to find an rb20/25/26 FSM for the skyline.

If you have no luck, i'll see if i can upload mine.

good luck

If you can wait a few more days I have one coming trough the mail, it's an CD version for all RBs exept the 30 so I could e-mail you what you need.

That would be great!! I am awaiting for the HKS head gasket, it's backorder from HKS Japan so I won't get it for another week or two. But I need the headgasket removal and reassembly specs...along with the timing information.

No, you almost NEVER use stock head bolts when you remove them. Stock headbolts are designed to "stretch" when they are torqued down--when you remove them they do not "un-stretch" so that if you try to retighten them, they won't hold completely. That's what happened with my RB. ARP Head bolts are designed differently and you CAN reuse those.

That is entirely true, but I'm not sure if you can't reuse the same bolts when you have an cast iron block AND head, since they have the same dilatation coeficient I think the bolts are made not to stretch.

Not bragging, just asking.
