JSM
1. Pull the plugs and squirt a little oil in the cylinders, regular motor oil and let it sit over night. I'd squrit a little more in it before you turn it over again. This whole thing may be worthless if the rings, cylinder was have rusted over 2. I would by pass the fuel system altogether if possible. Tank is probably severally rusted, fuel filter bad, etc. 3. You need new battery obviously 4. Pull the Air filter apart make sure no criters crawled inside the intake. Shoot some gum out cleaner in the throttle body to make sure it is clean 5. Turn the motor over and see if it at least cranks, but make sure the fuel lines are off or electrically disconnected. You don't want to clog the injectors any more if there not clogged already. 6. Make sure the distributer are disconnected. Just pull the cap off or unplug. 7. If it turns over, pretty easy, id then start looking at the fuel system and getting that cleaned out. 8. Most likely you will need to replace or coat the tank. I'm sure this something i missed others please chime in/
mentallylost
If you have a way to pull the car into your garage, driveway, whatever, do it. It'll make for the resurection a much smoother process. JSM gave some good advice. I'd follow it. But would also change the oil, remove the valve cover, and pour the new oil across the rockers and cam. Check the cam and rockers in the process. Steven280zx
thanks guys thats exactly the feedback i was looking for and dont worry i'm moving it into my garage soon enough (its in my grand-parents yard:rolleyesg ) the cam seems to be in fine shape so thats good news! well im sure the fuel pump itself is completly clogged same as the injectors like you said. is there a certain way i'm supposed to clean them out or do i have to replace them altogether. Twizted
Well 20 mins ago I just cranked up my Z for the first time in 2 years. It had a bad turbo and I finally got around to it. I know I'll never make it up to my baby but I'll try. Now yours is gonna be more extreme but this is what I had to do about the fuel system and perhaps *crosses fingers* it'll help you as well. I had no fuel coming from the pump and I didn't even hear it come on. I grab a booster box and direct connected it. It chuged and gurgled to my much delight and then finally hummed. I tried cranking the engine but no luck. Plugs were still dry, injectors. I then took my booster box and directly wired each and every injector until I heard it click. The car then came to life but struggled with the bad gas. It's a long shot but perhaps yours may come to life with alittle more cleaning and fresh gas. Good luck. Cyind
I would use some MMO in the fuel tank, cylinders, oil then turn it over a few times and add more MMO in the cyiinders and then let it sit over night. Pull the fuel line at the filter and use a jar to see what the fuel looks like if there is any, if none is in it add fresh fuel with about 4 oz of MMO in it. If there is and it's nasty drain the tank, change the filter before you try to start it still with some MMO in the fuel. This will help the injectors out... Drain the oil with some cheap dino stuff and change the filter with fresh oil and you can add some more MMO in it. If you get it running let it run for a while then I would change the filter and oil again if the other fresh oil look OK. Flush the Rad, change the tranny and rear-end fluids, check the brakes and maybe flush the fluid with fresh Dot 3 stuff. Lube suspension parts and so on. Check all Fuel lines for leaks including the injector hoses, check all water lines and vac line. You get the ideal!
