racerx260
Putting a new n54 block in with 83 turbo ecu and harness. The n/a n54 block is not tapped for the knock sensor. Can it be drilled and tapped?Does it go all the way through or into a solid casting?
olie05
knock sensor? Are you thinking about the cylinder head temp sensor? (the little thing in the back part of the right side of the head? also, theres the F54 block, and the N42 block, but no N54 block. N42 was the N/A block, F54 was turbo. big-phil
I did it to my n/a block, Let me think, you know the smaller bolt holes just under the head? I drilled it out about a 1/4 inch? I theaded the smaller size bolt into the hole, measured how much it went in, then drilles it that much with the size drill bit for the tap that matched the threads on the knock sensor ( i put tape on the drill bit so as to not go too far) then tapped it as much as I could, and installed the sensor. TheNeedForZ
big-phil, Looks like one smart way to ensure safe running of the L engine. Does the setup work?
big-phil
I have never had a true turbo motor, but I have 15 pounds boost with no knock, I guess its working?
