zspeed280
Kinda long, but please read? I know i could put this in the other engines section, but i feel you guys may be of better help. I posted before i am doing a mopar swap..its a 77 360 motor. as of now i have my 280 motor pulled and i have to get started on cleaning the engine bay.. Well i may put this motor in stock , but dont really want to.. this motor stock is running about 190 HP with up to 260-70 ish torque (according to the same year ASPEN with the 360..couldnt find it for the truck) And what i was wondering is how much power do you think i would get out of it with these modifications: Mild cam, maybe a little bigger 650 carb Heads ported and polished Flat top pistons Headers (OF COURSE:) 3'' exhaust/all the way back i will more than likely have an auto. Im thinking i may get as much as 250ish flywheel power.. any suggestions? I just thought maybe the 360 motor might gain power like the 350 chevy Thanks guys for any help with this..i would search on this site, but guess what? there is no info on this motor i know you gear heads have some knowledge on this...also any suggestions on motor upgrades would be appreciated Thanks David. Oh and this link is to the motor..little rough looking but it runs <http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v231/zspeed260/280z/newjersey094.jpg>
jt1
Don't waste your time on the 77 360 heads, they're smog heads with no quench, low compression, and small ports. Save up some money and use the Edelbrock aluminum heads with a performer intake and a 220ish at 50 hydraulic cam. Easy 325hp or so, less weight, money well spent in the long run. jt
