djc2004
Hi Guys, just wanted your opinions on whether i should ditch the TBI system on my car. I'm running a 74 Z with a 350 SBC with Brodix track 1 heads, hydraulic cam with 112 lobe separation, roller rockers, MSD A6L ignition back to a TH350 with a shift kit and 3000 stall. I cannot get the projection 4 set up to run cleanly. it seems to run too rich at idle and too lean at high rpms. Getting the balance just right is almost impossible. I'm told fuel injection can be my best friend, but at the moment it's a real pain. The searches I've done on the net all indicate that with most users, it's a case of perseverance not satisfaction and I'm wondering if it's better to go to a carb or to go to MicroSquirt. I know nothing about MS so I'm leaning towards say a 650 DP. If I do, I presume I'll have to run a replacement fuel pump or can I use a regulator to reduce the fuel pressure to suit? If I run MS are there any pitfalls I should be wary of? Any thoughts? Also is a 650cfm carb a suitable size? I'd like mechanical secondaries and electric choke....... thanks David.
