mobythevan
It looks like I will be firing up my 454 with supercharger next weekend to break in the cam. After that I am going to switch over to the EDIS setup. In making the final setup on my engine for the crank trigger wheel and VR sensor placement I noticed an oversight. With the original plan my VR sensor will not be able to fit within .1" of the trigger wheel like it needs to. The setup on the front of my crank was going to be like this: harmonic damper > 2V pulley with supercharger register > 1" spacer with supercharger register > EDIS wheel(fits nicely over supercharger register) > supercharger pulley The idea being that I would machine 1/4" off the spacer (leaving the 2" register at original length) so the EDIS wheel would stack right in, really easy, but..... That puts it directly against the supercharger pulley which is a larger diameter than the trigger wheel. That doesn't leave me any room for a VR sensor unless the overall diameter of the sensor is less than 1/4" (width of my EDIS trigger wheel) Now it looks like I will need to run 2 half inch spacers with the EDIS wheel bweteen them (still be maching 1/4" inch out of one to allow the trigger wheel to sandwich in). My big question since I do not have a VR sensor yet: what is the overall diameter of the sensors available? I need to make sure that the 1" space I have between the 2V pulley and the supercharger pulley is enough to fit the VR sensor in between. z-ya
Why not use a larger diameter triggger wheel, that's what I did on my SC setup. Let me know what diameter you need and I will check to see if a freind will make me another one. Pete
mobythevan
The only reason was finding another wheel and whatever cost would be. I'll have to check the diameter again. It is pretty easy at this point to just use two spacers with the wheel I have, as long as the VR sensor fits in there.
Clifton
My sensor is .822" wide. I have seen 2 different sensors. Mine is the Escort one. The 6cyl one might be thinner.
mobythevan
Thanks for the measurement, I am going to decide this week which path to go. 2 spacers or larger decoder wheel.
