i wa just wondering if anyone had the entire arizona Z suspension ands brake kit. im considering it for my Z before the 650hp 406 goes in. any opinions on other alternatives would be greatly appreciated. i would like to gain enough room for 15X10 draglights with 275/50/15 drag radials and move up to bigger front and rear disc brakes.

You may want to price a similar system out with Mikelly and SCCA Mike, you can probably save some money or get far more for the money than the Arizona Z setup. (its like what $1250.00 a corner?

Go to the HybridZ store and see what we have to offer. My control arm design offers ON CAR adjustment which the Arizona Z units do not. My rear design should be done and ready to mass produce by July, and sells for $850 for the six pieces... Front and rear adjustable arms, and front TC Rods... Mike SCCA has some of the nicest brake setups out there, and he also sells coil over kits at a VERY reasonable price.

I have not seen other than Arizona Z car suspension in person....but his stuff is awsome. The brakes are pretty much a willwood kit that is put together. (not easy to do since they don't have a pre-packaged kit) and his coilovers look to be the same design as scca and others. Bottom line is his stuf looks perfect. my advice would be to take a look in person at the other supliers parts.

You are of course forgetting that Dave at Arizona Z Car is a jerk to deal with and wouldn't know what customer service was if it came up and bit him on the behind. Just something to consider before buying from him. At least buying from Mike and SCCA you know you can get ahold of them on here and they never seem to act like they're going way out of their way to speak with you. Now that said, The AZ Z Car stuff is decent quality. Just remember ya gotta deal with Dave if ya go AZ Z Car.

...And you have to also remember that Mike/SCCA and I aren't trying to screw people over with the cost of our parts... I know what Mike is making on his stuff and he isn't going to be doing an IPO anytime soon, nore am I. Dave's main stay for business for quite some time was his shop and the parts he made... I understand why he is cranky to deal with, but I don't condone it..

I've got SCCA's front brakes and soon the rears (custom made mind you). Mikelly also has the fronts.

SCCA's price for the front is decent and I don't think there's piles of profit built into it. Brembo or Coleman rotors and billet Outlaw calipers. The pair of calipers weigh about what a single Toyota 4X4 caliper weighs I'd bet. Rotors are BEEFY race pieces and SCCA actually races his stuff too BTW. Customer service has been very good and as my mind has changed a dozen times SCCA has continued to take care of me and answer my dozens of questions.

The setup for the rear is one-off at this point but others will probably want it. SCCA has taken on the task of building the protoype on his own without piles of orders waiting in the wings. He does this work because he apparently enjoys it and yeah, he makes a buck or two.

Call up ArizonaZ and try to buy oh say... a glass bumper. Don't hold the phone too close to your ear though as he's likely to bite it off. A grand minimum sale or he's not interested in talking. He's quite grouchy when I've called and had little patience. I've never tried to buy brakes from him but when I was looking for shocks the Koni's he had looked REALLY good - until others clued me in they were oil shocks and not gas! Can you say OLD stock?

I value customer service, I have to since I've got tons to learn about Zs. Mike and SCCA answer questions, spend time in the "community" and are willing to improve their products based on suggestions or inquiries. I've never gotten that far with ArizonaZ and while their WEB site has some neat stuff most of it isn't obtainable even if you ask. I won't EVER be buying anything from him based on the experiences I've had and on those of others. Purchase from him if you'd like, the hardware may indeed be good, but you've been warned as to what sort of service he's provided to others who have spoken to him. icon_rolleyes.gif

I am curious though, not to dampen sales for anyone, what if your going to run Drag radials, do you want a road race suspension for?

It sounds as it'll be a drag car and I can understand the coilovers to get the larger 15x10's in there, but tubular control arms?

I'm sure you've reasoned this out as well, but 650hp is quite a lot back there, some people are busting things in the 500-550 hp range drag racing the R200. Not knocking the plan, just wondering about some of the details. Good luck with it.

Well sofar i have run the 350/350 combo thats in the car for 2 years with nitrous and still havent broken anything. i figured with 650 hp, even drag radials arent gonna hang in there too good, plus im leavin stock 200 in it with bolts and all. i figured bolts at wheel hubs should go first and give me a safety valve. a friend broke his first night we raced his 327 Z, all it did was quit moving and engine reved like mad. thats what rev limiters are for lol, if it breaks, i should be able to pull over and maybe put bolts in it and make it home. if parts breakage becomes a big problem then ill try something diferent. the only reason i wanted adjustable suspension was i do plan to drive it on street some, like sat. nights. being able to stiffen it up for street and soften it for drag launch would be best of both worlds.

I've seendrag guys going to tubular stuff all over the place in the Mustang word. Adjustability is always nice but the weight savings is their big draw. I don't know that we save nearly what they do with tubular stuff but every little bit helps if you're serious and can afford it. (shrug)

I DO think big(ger) brakes are a must on these cars. Not everyone needs giant 12inch rotors but the Toy 4piston vented stuff makes sense to me, the solid rotor setup is an upgrade too. I know that at least one of us gets by with stock stuff and upgraded friction material but when you're facing a safety fence @118mph or worse a wall in the shutdown area (shiver) it's nice to know you've got good brakes!

One of the tracks here has a wall of stone (MIR), another (75/80) has a wooden fencecornfieldfenceswimming pool in someone's back yard... A few cars have taken the NesTea plunge into the pool I'm told - no thanks! Then there's the crap track nearest me (1/8th mile) who's bystander protection from burnout debris in the water box was a blue tarp (last I was there) and NO tech inspect on my twin turbo V8 car. Hrm...

I realize the "road race" stuff is probably bigger than what's strictly needed for a track car but dual purpose is always nice. I've personally never understood track only cars myself. To each his own I guess! icon_smile.gif
