rztmartini
Can anyone tell me "approx" what the stock volumetric efficiency of a L28et might be? ...trying to calculate the compression ratio under boost...if anyone could tell me that it might be much easier L28 N42 head and block (both stock) T3/To4E at 14 psi anything else y'all need??? thehelix112
The rough figure I've read is around 85% for a 2vpc engine like the L. Though based on some dyno information from a comparable engine, I think closer to 90% (at max torque) with a cam and some minor porting. rztmartini
cool thanks. I read (also a rough figure) that it should be between 45% and 75%. i dont know if that is way off, sounds like a really poor engine to me.
linluv84
If a stock NA motor can make over 1hp per ci (168ci, 180hp), I would think that it would be higher..
rztmartini
when using the boost/CR calculator, when there is a higher VE, it says that more octane is required...why is that? i thought that the less efficient the engine is, the more octane is needed to prevent detonation...i guess i am 180* in the wrong direction, since the calculator says differently. So what can i use to lower the VE? (jus kidding!!)
