dune333racing
What size cooler lines would be recomended for a GM 200-4R? I was told the passage ways inside the tranny were 5/16 and that any line bigger than that would create a pressure drop. So, if I were to use a -4 AN line to a B&M super cooler would that create a large enough pressure drop to discourage me from using it? Is a -4 AN to small to big or what? I was also told the best thing for this particular tranny was a the stock 5/16 steel line all the way to the cooler and back. Someone please help!!!!!!!!! dr_hunt
The AN series hoses are sized in 1/16's, so 4AN is 4/16's or 1/4" ID, that would be too small. You want to run 5/16" as a min and more like 3/8". This will reduce pressure drop and flow enough to keep your trans cool.
