buZy
Hey guys, I need advise, I will try to keep it short. Ok car runs finally but shortly after has noise somewhere between flywheel and driveshaft. Like a roar.. in gear, only at speed, clutch pedal pushed in, while slightly reving the motor it roars more. Before all that heard a once light "ting ting ting" sound then gone. Also it only starts to roar after the car warms up? Everything is very new still. Just happened yesterday so the cars is not up yet. Brian
buZy
Update : It was the pilot bushing.
naviathan
Really? Was it scored really bad? I've never heard of a pilot bushing making noise like that.
buZy
Well I replaced the bronze one which was worn out to .630 with .590 being the spec. Went with a oem GM roller type. Like I said before everything is very new. I can't see it really being the gearbox when the clutch pedal is pushed in. The clutch looks great nothing broken, barely worn in fact. I am no expert. But will have the car running next week again and will post results.
buZy
Update: Noise gone. Car runs and shifts great. It was the pilot bushing. A gm mechanic friend said go with the bronze bushing type instead so the rest is history.
