Heavy Z
Hi everyone, been a while since I sold the 327 240Z for the FD LS1 and thought I'd share my new purchase with you guys. A 1984 190E/302 V8 4 speed, 300E brakes & diff, eibach 300e springs, 300e front sway bar, amg 300 rear & 500e front shocks. You can see the bulge in the hood if you look close at the pic. 2820 lbs on the scale as it is, with work it should be a fun sleeper. Last pic is an 87 FZR1000 I picked up recently, lots of extras (even miss may 91 airbrushed on both sides:roll:). She'll look great under a big yamaha sticker and for $700 bux I couldn't say no. Anyway, just thought I'd share, hope everyone's Zs are going well. Brett

slownrusty
I am big Benz fan and have always loved the 190E. Great car, beautiful lines, perfect size but always underpowered. You definitely cured the underpowered issue! In the top pic, the car looks very high, is the engine out of it in that shot? You did not mention the tranny you used and also how does it drive, how much hp is that 302 putting out? How difficult was the conversion? Sweet swap and more pics please. DavyZ
Brett, That's a totally cool conversion and excellent (safe!) daily driver. I'd love to know more on the car. Did you do the conversion yourself? Details, man, details! Wow, two V8 hybrids, what more could you ask for? Davy
EvilC
My dad was/is thinking of a LS1 swap into his 1980 280ce. That would be a nice sleeper. More details on your swap, looks good.

Heavy Z
Thanks guys, I'm actually waiting for the car to be shipped to me tomorrow so I'll know more once it arrives. It has a 4 speed right now but that will be upgraded soon. The builder owns a porsche/mercedes shop in LA and was building it for his son but his son changged his mind and got a 74 carerra instead. The builder also has a porsche GT3 race car that is really impressive. He said he put $8k into building the car, I got it for $3k. The car actually sits good but it had just come off the lift in that pic and the springs weren't settled so it looks a littlle high. I'll snap more pics tomorrow for you to see. Thanks for the comments on the bike too, I wasn't really looking for one but couldn't pass up the deal.

DavyZ
Here are some reason I think the 190e is sexxxxy. Yasin Yeah, I do too. When I read Brett's post about the car I immediately went to Craigslist and started pricing them out. I'd say Brett got one heck of a deal. What's nice is that they go for $1500 for older ones to $7000 for the newest ones. I saw a cool limited "sport" edition that had factory Recaros, etc, for $3750 and they made 300 of them. Looks like a nice ride. Wheels must go though... Davy
Heavy Z
Well the car is here and runs as good as a car will without oxygen sensors can, next step is to get it to the exhaust shop. Too dark for pics tonight but I'll post them up soon. The crazy thing with this 4 door is that although it is close to 2800 lbs I can still lighten it with aluminum heads and another 20 lbs with a polimer intake. Mercedes actually spent a billion dollars developing this car, the last one 'overbuilt' and the first to use the 5 link rear suspension that is now on their cars. I'm looking forward to having fun with this, but LS1s have spoiled me...trying to get 400 whp just isn't possible without FI or puting a stroker 351 in and having my intake manifold 3" above the hood. As for wheels, I saw some nice ones recently but am really leary of anything too obvious. I was considering these from a stock sl500 as they would fit, are cheap, stealthy, and 16x8 instead of the lousy 15x7 ones on there. Thanks you guys for the encouragement, I'll keep the info coming. Those are a good choice, but so are the Lorinser wheels that are a tad more sporty without being totally obvious "race me" wheels. I see them on MBZ cars a lot--but mostly "older" ones like yours. I think 16x8 is a good size for the car. Davy

slownrusty
The older E500 I love....it is porshe tuned You mean the W124 E500 (or 500E depending on year). They came to the U.S from '92 to '95 and not many came as they were terribly expensive $70-$80K. I almost bought one a few months ago, but decided to keep my $$ and ourchase a new house instead. I will buy one if the right one comes along. They are 322hp and the engines were designed and built by Porsche and Porsche also tuned the suspension. They are incredible to drive. So without further ado here are some porn pics of some sweet W124 500E: Yasin
