vega
http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PRC01 and are would this kit work with a 4.3 votec v6? ( i mean just the motor mounts- i don't know if hte motor mounts are the same on the 4.3 as the 5.7 i know that the 4.3 is just a v6 5.7 but that doesn't mean the motor moutns are the same)
buZy
Seems to me one could mount a v6 more to rear of the car anyways with different mounting. I think someone here has done 4.3 before in a Z. Do a search I bet you will find something on it.
jbk240z
Well, I installed a a 4.3 v6 in an '72 Z using the jtr motor mounts. They bolted to the 4.3 just like they would for a 5.7 or any other SBC. The difference between this and a v8 install is that the distance between the firewall to rear of the v6 is 3.5" or 4", where a v8 would be an inch or less. vega
so did you put yours farther back then? and what tranny and rear end did you use? edit--------------------------- reading up on these i think that maybe a SMALL sbc woul work great. like a 305 or 267 or 262 (not the v6 but the v8 out of the nova and monza) why? cause it can wind up more and has the tq of a the v8 i would like to go turbo. what sbc would you recomend for turbo. i don't want a 350 btw. i sold me 327. camle back heads......... but i want to go turbo. or tt. or twincharged with maybe a turbo m90 hybrid (hence the hybrid z ) and are there forged internals made for these smaller sbcs? or are parts harder to come by (nto realy refering to the 305 biut the 267 and the
