kdouze
hi all. i am a college student who is looking to get into a project car, right now i am considering a smog exempt z because you can do about whatever you want to them and they are fun looking cars. i am mechanically inclined and can get help from my uncle who has built every car under the sun if i run into a big problem. my question is thus: what kind of cost am i looking at to build/restore an early z and what recommendations would you make for someone who has never done this before? thank you for any help you can offer me

Well, decide on a purpose you intend for the car. 2. Decide on year model, I guess pre '74 or '75, can't remember which. 3. Set a budget. 4. Get the JTR manual, about $40 or so. 5. Get a plan based on budget. Go from there. I can assure you that you'll spend more than you want, unless your an accountant, and it'll take longer than you think, and you'll have more fun than you can imagine. OlderThanMe
Where is P-town? Here in Atlanta the smog exemptment is 25 years old...That is any first gen Z and some second-gen Zs. First gen Zs(70-78) are way lighter and better looking IMO.
