wickiewicked240z Posted November 28, 2006 Share Posted November 28, 2006 I having the car painted in the next month should I leave the body parts on, hood,fenders,hatch,doors on when the painted or should they do them seperate. also should i put on the underbody undercoat first before paint for after paint? Rollins240z Posted November 28, 2006 Share Posted November 28, 2006 I agree with racerx. You also want to consider the risk of chipping edges if you paint parts off the car. It is terrible when every panel looks beautiful, but when you go to install a door you accidently chip the edge of the door with the fender. Then your back to square one. If you do this make sure the paint has a few days to cure, then tape all the edges and be very very careful during re-assy. I would pre-fit everything so all of your gaps are where you want them, then only take off the doors, hatch, and hood. The fenders should not get in the way of any jambs.
