Guest shlby123
Hi! Im a new owner of an '03 350Z and I was wondering if anybody might be able to answer a few suspension question for me? The car was in pristing shape when I picked it up. It only has 35K on it, and was owned by a very old insurance salesman. The car is fantastic but the ride on it is HORRIBLE I know it's a sports car, but my old 300ZX glided on air compared to this thing. So I started asking questions on another forum and was informed that their is a way to remedy the rough ride in my car? I mean I dont want it to ride like a cadillac, but damn I need some help before I start pinching nerves in my back on the way to wor. 2003z
I had Cusco sways and Tokico D-Spec adjustable shocks on mine and the ride was great, even with 19s.
Guest shlby123
What kind price range for those parts?
wonderllama
the 350z is a heavy car, even back in 03 which is the lightest year. to make a heavy car handle well, they have to make the suspension stiff, which is what makes the ride so harsh. if you dont want the stiff ride, you have to change out the springs, shocks, etc for a softer set. which may be hard to find, as most people are looking for the exact opposite. just know that this will detrimentally affect your handling. 2003z
What kind price range for those parts? when I got them, the sways were 250 and the shocks 419, but both were on sale. I think they are more like 350 and 550 normally.
Guest shlby123
What kind of overall difference in the ride did you find?
2003z
Its been a while now, but from what I remember, they were both adjustable, on the soft settings of the shocks, the ride was very nice. I kept them more on the firm side for performance though. The sways, along with same width rubber front and rear, dialed out a lot of the understeer. jmark
I own a 2003 350Z as well. The Koni SA Yellow shocks are worth every penny. Car handles better and rides as it should. The OEM shocks are terrible. I would highly recommend you swap out the shocks to fix the bounce as I call it. I am running stock springs and 350Evo sway bars. I didn't want to lower the car at all.
