Guest Anonymous
I finally took the car to the muffler shop to get the duels put in. I can not believe how sensitive the breaks are. It has the Toyota upgrade on the front, earls SS lines from front to back, and a larger master cylinder. The darn things stops better then my Durango! Modern Motorsports Ltd
rickeybell, I'm VERY glad your car stops better than your truck (I can see a Z passing a durango under braking in the Craftsman truck series now) Would love to see some pics as well. Guest Anonymous
I will be glad to post some crude pics of the install. It is up on the rack at the muffler shop right now. When I can borrow a camera, I will do a simple site on it. I did an install similar to the JTR setback installation. I set the engine back so far that the Distributor is about 1" from the firewall. The harmonic balancer is a inch forward of the cross-member behind the steering rack, so the engine weight is behind the cross-member. I was hoping for a lot of the weight toward the rear end. The install wasn't that bad. The main thing I wish I did not do was weld the rear end, and remove the A/C. But, we learn from our mistakes. I am trying to quiet the exhaust enough to make an awesome street sleeper . Here is a list of the current mods: Block: Stock Pontiac 455 Bored .030" over to a 462 Decked to 0.00" Line Honed and ARP Studded Rotating Assy: Stock crank cut .010" Stock Rods shot peaned and manufuxed, ARP bolts TRW Forged Pistons with lightweight pins Chrome molly rings Balanced Cam: Crane 272 camshaft Rodes variable rate lifters Harland Sharp 1.65 roller rockers Double roller timing chain Head: Pontiac 6x off a 400 2.11/1.66 SS Valves Crane springs and retainers Pocket ported and exhaust ported Port Matched to exhaust and intake.
