Guest Anonymous
Hi, I am in the process of beginning to remove my rear axle and suspension assembly on my '71 240Z. The car is supported by jack stands resting on the sides of the front diff. mount cross member. I know the diff front member needs to come out in order to remove the entire assembly. I can see that two of the installation bolts for the front member bolt into the support that I have the car jacked up on - I assume I can safely remove the entire assembly using a hydraulic floor jack located underneath the gear carrier after diconnecting the assembly? Thanks, Z
pparaska
Yes, you can lower the entire assemble at once.
johnc
A better place for those jack stands are the frame rail junctions just inside of the front of the rear wheel wells.
