jimbo5670
Thank god for this board, the car FINALLY runs, the day before I had to go back to school of course, hah. Running is a term I am taking rather liberally though, it seems to be wayyyyyy rich, and I was trying to figure out why. Here is what I am running. 72 240z 82 L28ET MS 2.2 running fuel only The tune from the Moby FAQ Stock turbo Stock boost No I/C yet Stock injectors No resisters on the INJ grounds Timing is set for 10degrees at idle, and coming up to 13 at 3000 rpm, not an ideal situation I know, but it is only a temporary solution The symptoms I am getting are Popping under acceleration The car has “no balls†Hard as s*** to start Thanks, Matt
mobythevan
The tune from the Moby FAQ That is why, most likely. It seems that I had a problem with fuel pressure for that tune and everyone that runs it with "normal" setup ends up way rich. That is all I can gather at this point. jimbo5670
but rich enough that the car would barely run and start at 33 psi of fuel pressure?
trwebb26
yup... the values in the sticky are way rich for stock injectors and fuel pressure. What is the big deal? Lean out the whole map and see if it gets better. If it doesn't - load the old one and continue to drive with the car rich.
Careless
but rich enough that the car would barely run and start at 33 psi of fuel pressure? pull your fuel pump fuse and burn all the gas thats still in there by cranking and trying to get it to start a couple of times, and clean off your spark plug electrodes after that. if it's been flooded or rich, you probably have a lot of deposits all over everything in there, which is making it hard to start. then lean out your map by 10% increments, and try again.
