jtmny1999
I recently bought a act clutch kit part #NX2-HDR6. Pressure plate #N-013 I have a fydanza flywheel and a N/A 5 speed from a ZX. I got the 2+2 fork and the 82 N/A bearings. 240z Master clutch cylinder and 82 n/a slave. The problem I am having is that the clutch slave/master cylinder is not pushing the fork out enough. I think it doesn't have enough power force to push it, so I cant put it in gear it grinds. If anyone has this combo what slave/master cylinder are you using? I wasn't having those problems with stock pressure plate and RPS disk. Any help will be appreciated. -JT
randy 77zt
there are different length sleeves that the throwout bearing rides on-i think its early 240 vs 280.i have a 240mm act clutch behind my turbo motor with a 280zx na trans and it works fine.make sure there is no air in the system.if the old clutch worked the new cltch should be ok. EMWHYR0HEN
I actually had the opposite problem when I was running l28 and 5-speed. When I changed my slave I bought aftermarket the slave rod that pushes the fork was actually too long. The rod, however, had threads on it so it was adustable, so a shortened and adjusted it and it was fine. In you case, If you remove the boot on the slave are there threads on the rod? was the clutch master, clutch line, and slave properly bled? also check the pedal adjustment inside. jtmny1999
Thanks for the info. I guess I have to keep bleeding the system because the fork only has 1/4 inch of movement. My slave cylinder pin is not adjustable so I can't make it longer or shorter. How long does it usually take to bleed if all the system is new? I already tried pumpin it for about 30 min but it moves the same. Well I will have to wait for my brother to get here so I can do that quicker. Thanks
seth
Sounds like a similar problem to what I had... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=115997 I ended up modifying the pivot for the clutch fork.
jtmny1999
Still having the same problem I switched to a pathfinder slave now and got more travel, about almost 1 inch. I read that u need at least 2 inches of throw for it to disingage. I guess I will try a tilton master with the pathfinder slave...... Is there any adjustable custome slaves? any help will be good thanks!
ktm
Are you sure you have the correct throwout collar length? I have a Fidanza flywheel, ACT clutch and pressure plate in my 240z and I have no problems.
jtmny1999
I have the 2+2 fork and the regular 5 speed 82 collar. Should I have something different? It was working on the stock PP but not now with the Act PP.

jtmny1999
OK so I took off the stop on the clutch pedal and now it works fine. I will have to upgrade to a bigger master cylinder it looks like.
