I figured I would put it on the passenger side since the brake & clutch stuff is on the drivers side but wanted to see if there are any issues for one side or the other. ...or I could do two chrome dipsticks! sweetride2go Posted February 12, 2007 Share Posted February 12, 2007 i guess it would depend on if u already had a pan for it that was set up for the dip stick on one side or the other... ive seen some pans that hav provisions for both, and if thats the case, then i say passanger... i hav no technical data to back that up, i just say that cause all of my other v-8's hav always been on the passanger side, lol... and actually now i think of it, thats not true, my 327 was on the driver side... but ya, it makes sense on the passanger side, no mastercylinders or steering shafts... =) ryan~ Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Paz8 Posted February 13, 2007 Share Posted February 13, 2007 Pre 1980 SBC had the dipstick on the drivers side in the engine block, it's not an issue with headers if you use a dip stick that goes directly into the block (no dipstick tube).
