JSM
I picked up a stock 73 that was quite rusty around the battery tray. It looks like there is gas leaking from the line all around the rusted area of the tray and lines. Can I splice with rubber fuel line the damaged portion of the metal lines? Anyone know the size of the lines off the top of their head?
X64v
Yes, I did it for a few months on my 73 (bad battery tray corrosion as well). The feed is 3/8". The return is something rediculous like 1/4" or something.
Pop N Wood
Yeah, you can. Feed is 5/16 and return is 1/4. I accidentially drilled a hole in one when installing something inside the car. The rubber coupler lasted 18 years without leaking.
X64v
That's right, it is 5/16". I've just been using 3/8" for so long because my local auto zone doesn't have 5/16" carb fuel line.
