My new suspension plans. 1983 280ZX

Recommended Posts

Okay my tax return is coming in soon (from what my dad says) and I'm using the money for new Tockio HP struts, and Tockio 1" lowering springs, along with new bushings for the entire car. Since I'm down there should I get new sway bars ? Are these wear and tear parts or are my stock ones still good. What else should I do while I'm down there ?

For the sway bars they are not wear and tear items but, the bushings certainly are. You could certainly upgrade the sway bars while your down there but, most guys just install better bushings and this will give you a large improvement over the stock stuff.

If you have the money then go ahead and install new ball joints and tie rod ends. Your going to have so much of it apart already to install the bushings in the controll arms that it would be easy to do the suspension componets also. This will really help if the car has alot of miles on it like most 280ZX's do.
