whis
Okay, so the diff upright bolt is stuck in the car, with the upright still attached. It rotates but will never come out because the nut inside is rotating with it. I assume that the nut inside was supposed to be welded and I'm sure it was but I managed to luck out and shear the welds. Should I just cut in from the top to grab the nut or...? Thanks, Whis
vashonz
You should not have to cut anything, you may have to remove the material covering the strut towers to get at the top nut.
blueovalz
I know that there are rubber plugs over the mustache mount bolts, but not with these. If you have a welder, you may be able to drill a hole (perhaps 1" or bigger) from the top of this subframe (from the interior of the car) and weld the captured nut back to the subframe. At this point, even if you get careless with the welder (and weld the bolt onto the captured nut), you could then drill out the bolt and clean up the threads to be back in business.
