Mike kZ
Do you mean the 6 cylinder 3 speed auto? NO! It won't take the torque of a V8
80LS1T
How many times is this questoin going to get asked? I'm sure it can be done but you would have to have a custom bell housing made and even then the tranny wont last. Besides the 3 speed auto had horrible gearing if you ask me! twoeightythreez
Sure it's possible. Make an adaptor plate, question is, why? TH350 that comes with a 350 isn't that much bigger, isn't much heavier, is geared for the V-8, and it probably will cost about the same to get a custom driveshaft as a custom bellhousing, but at least with the D/S you get a stronger driveshaft to go along wiht your strong tranny. ON top of all that, you can use your stock DATSUN shifter on the TH350 with very easy mods, so why bother keeping the datsun tranny unless you're keeping a datsun motor? Datsun rearend was strong, driveshaft was not. Good luck!
