Guest kc6wfs
Are these the symptoms of a master cylinder that died? I have never had one die on a Z... I went to bleed the brakes after the conversion and the peddle never came off the floor for my wife. I know I got all the air out of the calipers, blead it a LOT. I had run the master cyl out of fluid while bleeding. I did bleed the master cylinder also to be sure no air was in there. Here is what it's doing. I can pump it 10 times fast and it will come up and stay.. no wise cracks please... hehe If I get off the peddle for 5 secs it will go to the floor then I have to pump it again 10 times or so. Any ideas??? Thanks.. Dave
Tim240z
Nah, Still air in the master! Try putting the tube that's on the furtherest caliper in some fluid and keep bleeding (with your missus topping up the master). Could be that the master doesn't push enough fluid for the calipers, too....Takes more fluid to move calipers than drum slave cylinders. Guest Thurem
suck the fluid out with vacuum, or pump it in. Make sure you don't have air trapped in a line where it goes up over the master cyl.. Thure
Guest jwelch
I highly recommend taking it to a brake shop when you get it going and have in POWER BLED. Most brake shops will do this for less than $40 bucks. I hate taking my car to the shop but this is the best $40 bucks you can spend on brakes (IMO)

pparaska
Dave, Did you bench bleed the MC? It can make a difference. If you don't use the full stroke of the MC when initially installing it, you may never get all the air out. That's hard to do without doing it on the bench, as the booster won't let you stroke it all the way. Glad it's working though!
Guest kc6wfs
Hi Pete, Ya I did bleed it last weeked on the car, but re-did it today before I started bleeding the rear disks. When I press on the brakes now it's only going 1/4 way down to stop. I'll tell ya can feel a huge differance in breaking just from taking it around the block!!! Also I installed the Double Braided lines and put pics up on my web page. I'm very happy. Dave
Guest scca
i see you got the lines on now... so the calipers were backwards huh.. not sure if i made it clear before but you should take the drivers side and install it direct to the T fitting up like the pass side was. you need to purchase a 20" metric line but it will work perfect that way and not have the loop like it has now./.. thats the way i made them to go.. now that i'm back i will post the pics of the car here with the lines installed to where they go to.
