a72z4me
In stock configuration, the pistons in a l28 engine are .007" under deck, according to lengine chart.I'm rebuilding mine now and have bored 1mm over, stock rods,87mm pistons, stock crank,.005" shaved off deck height. With those dimensions I should still be .002" under deck.Problem is I"m .012"-.013" over.My only guess is that I was given a piston with wrong pin height. My question now is can I proceed with the build with that piston height. 1 fast z
WHEN WILL YOU GUYS STOP USING THAT CRAPPY SOFTWARE!!! It is NEVER accurate. Stock pistons are .016" above the deck in stock form.
Administrators BRAAP Posted April 14, 2007 Administrators Share Posted April 14, 2007 Continue on with your build. You won’t have any issues. The Flat Top L-28 pistons pop up out of thebore .020”-.025”, and with a stock Nissan or Felpro head gasket, the squish with a matching head is then PERFECT! Though you wouldn’t want it any closer than that. Your pistons will NOT contact the head or valves, (unless you don’t time the cam properly). Hope that helps, Paul
