Guest ray1284
Hey guys, help me out here. I have a stock '78 280z and for the past week I'm having a hard time getting it to start specially in the morning. It does not start in the morning but starts rough in the afternoon. Last night after the usual unsuccessful morning attempt, the car started. I let it idle for about 5 minutes and I decided that I would take it for a drive so I turned on the headlight and saw the idle slowly dropping until it the engine died! I couldn't get it to start again since. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
nismopick
Check all the basics... spark plugs & wires, cap & rotor, timing, vac lines, sensor connections, cold start valve, air regulator, etc etc etc... Your spark plug tips will usually tell you whats going on... running too rich or too lean, one cyl not firing...

Your spark plug tips will usually tell you whats going on... running too rich or too lean, one cyl not firing... I checked those and everything seems to be ok. I replaced the cold start valve today (seen on other threads that this is the common culprit), it started for about a minute but died again! I'm stuck, what should I check or do next???
