Watanabe Wheels

Recommended Posts

So my 74 Fairlady is almost ready to hit the road again. One last thing I want to do with it is add the RS 8 spoke Watanabes. I was wondering if anyone has done the 16X8 or 16X8.5 up front with std lower springs vs. the coilover setup.

If someone has one that they would be willing to lend me to test fitment I would appreciate it. The ol lady is sitting at Z Car Garage in San Jose, Ca. right now. If you would like to help me out with this please PM me. Again all I need is one to test out or something that has the same dimensions as 240hoke's wheels

Hey,

I am running 9" up front and 9.5" in the back. I believe the wheels were sized to be used with the stock suspension as there is plenty of room between my coilovers and the tire. You will need Zg's however.

Quoc may be able to answer your questions or get you with somebody who can.

I have the same exact wheels as austin. quickly measured the backspacing. its around 4.5"

Hanson,

Are you in the Oakley by Brentwood (Contra Costa County)? If so would you mind letting me test fit one of the front wheels on mine when I get it back? I'm in Brentwood.

Here is a pic of how it looks right now. Actually this is with out the motor in. I don't have a current pic with the motor in. I'll see if I can get some posted.

yes I am in Oakley. I dont have front wheels yet. but I'm ordering them today. i missed that part in your thread about this regarding the front wheels, so that backspacing was for the rear. I'd be glad to help you out so long as i'm there, and it doesn't get driven on, yada yada. Pm me if you want to discuss it further.

I have a 16x8 RS-8 but its +38mm. If you can get a hold of a spacer you can test fit it. No tires mounted though. I'm just down the street from zcar garage.

I'm selling the set BTW.

Thanks for the offer but, I need to check out the fit on the correct back spacing.
