Guest Reisman240Z
I got a 2.8 liter, with dual su's, and headers. I was wondering what type of gas I should be using? Should I use 91 octane or is that just a waste of money? What was originally suggested by Nissan?
naviathan
If you haven't changed the compression ratio with a different head or pistons then stick with regular. Although in the long run the difference between a tank of regular and premium is about $2 a tank. Sometimes it's worth it.
e_racer1999
ya, what head are you running and which pistons? where are you in san diego? oh, and run the lowest octane without pinging for optimum performance
Guest Reisman240Z
It has stock pistons and early z heads, I think I'd go out and check the part number right now but its out on a drive. I guess money wise it isn't that much of a difference on a z. I'm too used to my Expedition taking 30 gallons instead of 12. Also I live in La Mesa right off where the 8 and the 125 intersect. Guest Sleepy-z
Fuel is more refined nowadays then back then, stick to lower octanes, mine is the stock l28 fuel injected though but it ran like crap on 91 it seems to run best at 87 octane. the book might actually say 85 or higher but I know at the most it says 87 as the minimum.
