Guest skidpan Posted May 18, 2007 Share Posted May 18, 2007 im sure its been asked at least a time or two... I own both a 1972 datsun 240, and a 92 300zx NA. Like many other people I was looking into a SBC swap Into thw 240. I do know I want to put an auto trans in it for my wife. ( its her car) I came across a 94 na 300zx auto i can get for a decent price ( body needs lots of work) is this a strait foward swap? I can fab up the mounts, and I dont think the trans crossmember could be that hard. Would steering be a problem with the motor being NA? Im sure i could adapt some offroad gear ( a 2-4 inch gear drop ) to help out relocating the steering shaft. I dont think that the wiring would be to difficult, maybe a stretch here or there, but nothing I havent done befor. do you guys have any pics of a VG30DE in a 240? hoov100 Posted May 18, 2007 Share Posted May 18, 2007 the only hard thing i would see about fitting a vg30de in there is if you used the stock exhaust, i would see some fitment issues with the frame rail, but a set of borla ongtubes from a 350z should solve the problem...
