DriftZ
Will a 280zx clutch work in a ka24de? I have an aftermarket 280 clutch sitting here and a ka24 so i want to put them together.
wickiewicked240z
I dunno but last time i checked i used a plastic tool used to center the clutch and its the same diameter at has the same number of tooth i check with a 280zx clutch. and i use to have a 93 240sx with 89 manual tranny...the plastic tool was for a ka24de clutch. SR240Z
check the part numbers, if that same number matches for a ka24de then yeah go ahead and use it. if it doesnt cross reference then i wouldnt try it.

Wedge
That on a L28 right ? I was wondering the same thing if a 240sx clutch would fit on a L28 . EDIT= I just checked ATC website and their heavy duty pressure plate has the same part number (SKU: 83705500095) and Centre Force has the same part number for both their kit (225mm) on 240sx and 280Z L28 equiped . Good to know ! Further searching told me that SR20DET clutch are 240mm and KA24DE are 225mm
Nismo280zEd
well my 2+2 clutch for my 280z is the same size as my stock KA clutch. So if your ZX clutch uses a 225mm disc, then yeah... bolt it up.
icesky
Got my centerforce from my 280z and put it in my 240sx and works perfect, so I say if the part numbers match go for it.
Mack
If you want to use the the 280zx 240MM clutch on your KA, get a hardbody KA24E 4x4 flywheel. Its 240mm.
DriftZ
Do I NEED to or is it just a suggestion?
Wedge
Do I NEED to or is it just a suggestion? And is the stock L28 clutch a 240 mm ?
Mack
you may not NEED it unless you are pushing an ungodly amount of torque with a turbo. more surface area = better tq rating. Stock 2+2 and turbo model 280ZXs came with the 240mm clutch.
DriftZ
Ok so i tried the clutch on and it fits but the l28 pressure plate is too big. Just like the internet told me it would be. So now i am selling my l28 stuff and the sr20 guys want to know the the clutch pressure plate will fit on their motors. l28 and sr20 are both 240mm and 24 spline. Anyone know if it will work?
