Guest shuyun
Has anyone make the raceing wheel single lug setup for a 240? Has anyone done the conversion? And are they safe for street use? Thanks.
Guest Anonymous
Do you mean a "knock off hub" ?
RPMS
I just took off the other three lug nuts on each wheel. Funny, but nobody seems impressed.... Seriously though, yeah, he's talking about the spindle hubs that are all the rage with the import set. It allows your wheel to have a much smaller center, and a somewhat lower unspring weight. Looks trick, but I'd be forever paranoid that I didn't torque it down to the specified 425 ft/lbs or so of torque they require.
Guest shuyun
So does anyone make a kit for the spindel hub or am I going to have to make my own?
Guest dbass
Dayton wire wheels makes a setup that will fit. Website is http://www.daytonwirewheels.com/
johnc
If you are talking about a racing center lock then I haven't heard or seen anything. It would probably have to be all custom, including your wheels. BTW... have you ever worked with center locks before? Hopefully you know they require special impact guns that cost at least $750 each and the cheap ones will require that you buy two, one for left hand thread and one for right hand thread. The good ones that can turn either way are close to $2,000. You'll also need about 500 psi of Nitrogen or compressed air to run them. Just some tips from a tire man at various ALMS races... Tim240z
TSW makes a setup for single center nut, or at least they used to. Very pricey though. Tim
CruxGNZ
Tim, I remember seeing something on T.V. about TSW making an adaptor hub for VW's to run the single lug. If I remember right, it was put on a black VW Jetta on some show... man, I wish I could remember what show I saw it on. It was about a year or so ago. Now I'm second guessing myself, you know, now I'm not sure if it was TSW that made them... all I remember is it was for a VW. !M!
Guest scca
TRUE center pins are real $$$ you will need new brakes at the same time and a upgraded hub. this is what is used on trans-am cars and what they use on BTCC etc. go to Hoerr-racing.com and look there anything can be done if you wallets fat enuf
