Mine is cracked and Ill be needing a new one and the coupes are more plentiful. Mabey while were on the subject someone could list the different Z consoles and which ones are interchangable for other users that need the info. Challenger Posted February 15, 2008 Author Share Posted February 15, 2008 Yeah that was the only thing saw different. Ill have to see If I can get the lid onto the 74 console. The only other thing I saw different was the choke lever. Also I assume the automatic transmission opening is the same as the manual? You just have to swap out the corresponding pieces? Vintage Posted February 16, 2008 Share Posted February 16, 2008 Unfortunately, I'm 99% sure you cant use the manual console with the automatic baseplate. jasper Posted March 9, 2008 Share Posted March 9, 2008 You guys had me scrathing my head. I just bought an AUTOMATIC shifter base plate for an 700r4/V8 conversion. I went out to the shed to check fit on 2 260-280 consoles. IT FITS correctly. All mounting bosses, and cut out for the sliding shifter plate are there.
