Guest 10player
Hey guys, I'm new to the forums. I have a 78 280z, running good for the price. There are a few dents here and there which im not to worried about. But I have a dent, which the PO I guess tried to fix since there are holes which I assume were to pull it out, in the right rear fender. I figure the best way here would be to drop the fuel tank, then chop n' patch the affected area. Well here some pictures of the damage. Any input is welcomed. Also from looking at the quater panel, it didn't look like I could hammer and dolly the damage. Is that correct, or can I hammer and dolly and weld the holes, 'cause that would save me some time. Oh, and if anybody cares, my name is George. Haha.
wickiewicked240z
thats alot of holes I would suggest that you go to the junk yard and cut that rear panel and weld it in.
Shift
get a metal shaping dolly and a rubber or raw hide mallet and go at it.
TravRMK
Take out the bumper skock, gas tank, and tail light panel, and get in there and hammer and dolly that baby back into shape, then weld all the holes shut. Or, as said before, cut it out, and weld in a new piece.
