Guest dogmeatk
I am getting rid of my 1984 300ZX Turbo (50th AE) to make room for a 280ZX project. I am in the process of parting it out, but I want to know if anything would be useful for my 280zx project before I sell it. My goal is a 280zx turbo with a reliable mild street build, maybe around 250 whp max. I know some people have switched to a z31 ECU as an upgrade, so I will keep that around. I do not want to do the VG30 swap, so I will probably pull it and sell it. Would the BW T-5 transmission, differential (open), brakes, sensors be of any use for my later 280zx? Kennysgreen280zt
id buy the axles from you. I dont think they make adapters for them to fit the 280zx. I might also be interested in the turbo, if its in ok working order. Are the AE's 5 lug? If so the front hubs are popular to use on the earlier cars (70-78)
Guest dogmeatk
Why would the axles fit differently between a 280z and a 280zx? And is there something wrong with the stock axles, or are they just beefier? I was just planning on using stock axles, so make me an offer via PM. The turbo is also available, but probably in need of a rebuild. Sounded like there was some shaft play last time I had the muffler off. I will check it this week. gearheadstik
They are much stronger than the universal joints for us stock s30 guys...But you have to have a 250 buck adapter to make them work.
xenonxiii
If your car Is a true AE like the following: Pull the side skirts and rear flare. The seats are also a item only offered in the AE so those in good shape would bring buck. The last thing is the Stock AE wheels. Those would bring some $$ to the z31 guys. PSi
=( I sold one of these still running for a few hundred bucks cause it was taking up room in my shop (an unpaying customer's car) didnt realize it was worth anything...
roger.svoboda
Use the z31 turbo in your 280. The water cooled ones last mo bettah than the the stock zx. MY son took mine to the hardware store and came back saying it was making noise. Turbo shaft just shattered and the bucket wheels were rattling around in the housing. I now have a z31 to put back in it.

frank280zx
yes keep the rear crossmeber you need the hubs brakes calipers etc ... keep the front struts and brakes .. they are fairly easely adaptable in my book .. though you need to mod your front lca to get the camber issues right
