Guest Anonymous
Hi all! I've been looking at this site for a while and think that it's very informative. I'm a huge Z-car fan with a tiny budget, so I driving a 280zx until I can afford a nice early gen. Z-car. As I've driven the 280ZX, I've come to a point that I really like the 'ZX body style but I know that it is heavier than 240-280Z's. Has anyone out there dared to use this monster for autocross? The reason I'm asking is because I've thought up all sorts of suspension mods., but if no one uses 280ZX's there's not much use for them. johnc
There are a couple that run occaisionally at Cal Club SCCA events here in Southern California. Sam Strano of Strano Parts ran a 280ZX Turbo in ASP for a number of years.
RPMS
Sure, you can autocross a ZX. But I've heard it compared to dancing with a fat lady. Nothing prohibits it and it can be done quite well, but it takes more skill and effort to get the job done. But then, I could be wrong. David K
i drive my 280zx in open track events. as long as you have stiff shocks and springs, you will be good to go. the zx kinda sucks because of its luxury status (hahaha) and the suspension was designed for comfort other than performance. I use kyb gas-a-just's and they are very nice.
