REDCANCER
Could someone give me some opinions on the 2.5in aluminized exhaust sold by zstore? I have an L28 na and was wondering if it's worth buying. I was also looking into their msa cold air induction kits. Thanks.
240zwannabe
in my opinion the 2.5 inch exhaust system for the l28 sounds pretty good, not ricey sounding, i'd say closer to v8 while idling i've never heard it rev from the back so i couldn't tell you what it sounds like in the upper rpms
REDCANCER
Thanks for the response, I'll probably get it. If I do, I'll try to get some audio for the exhuast sound clip thread.
nbesheer
Also the MSA (which I assume you're talking about) cold air works but it would be far cheaper to get one off ebay and slap a K&N on it.
e_racer1999
i have the 2.5" w/ header and it sounds great. i'm thinking about putting a resonator in because there is resonance between 1800-abd 2300. but otherwise it's nice. i'll try to post up an exhaust sound clip later. Zmanco
I put this exhaust on about 3 years ago and it has held up pretty well so far. But I had to take it to a local muffler shop to get it to fit properly. In the end we made enough adjustments to it that I probably should have just had him build one from scratch. It would have been the same price, had less welds, and fit better. If you don't have a shop that will do custom work at reasonable price, then I'd say go for it. Otherwise go custom. As for the muffler sound, it's a dynomax IIRC, and I liked mine until I had a series of backfires through the muffler at the last track day towards the end of the hottest session. It "rearranged" enough of the sound deadening material that it's now a lot louder. I'll probably replace it soon as it now has a bunch of reasonances at all different rpms. I can't fault the muffler for that.
