Austin280z
OK Guys, I will say off the bat, yes I am a noob and bow before you. I like coming to Hybrid the most as I tend to learn the best by having everything thrown at me at once (military). I am 95% going to buy this 78' 280z, $900. Just wanted to get a collective opinion personally I love it. it does have a bit of a rust issue (what 280z doesn't?) and it does throw some white smoke due to burning oil from what Ive been told, needs a tune up and valve seals I believe. Looking forward to fixing the rust paint interior, then I'll be happy enough to install a turbo. Thanks! hope you enjoy the pics!

Austin280z
Ok sorry guys, I have to lay off the z forum at work for a bit Anyways I ended up passing on buying the car Way too much of a rust problem the back end had fist sized holes and you could see the blow torch patches on the main body were new sheet metal was welded onto the body My mechanic buddy advised against buying it as the under carriage and frame most likely had a great deal for rust. Im very depressed about not getting it I was so exited to have it Oh well back to the search, looking for one around $3,000 in the texas oklahoma area. thanks for the comments Ill post the pics anyways thu Still love that car, even if shes rusty, offered the guy to buy it as a parts car but haven't heard from him back (grr, my pics are too big to post) I tried

m4xwellmurd3r
ouch the rust problem is a major bummer. from what i can tell on mine, there isn't much rust that can't be taken care of with sandpaper (but i don't care to scrape off the undercoat to find out) yep, mine still has all the original undercoating etc. splash plate somehow is rust free o_o I hope you find a good car man! Austin280z
Yah my Plan is to get this one and a Z31, and fully restore them to full glory. I hate to see these beautiful cars go to waste. even more to see them rotting in a yard somewhere, I'd buy and restore every single one i saw if I had the money. anyone else with me?
