ezzzzzzz
I'd pull the inspection cover to determine if a shifter could mount here. I have my doubts but most anything is possible if you throw enough time and money at it.
Pop N Wood
A TKO trans has a similar covers that can be used to mount a shifter in different locations. http://www.5speedtransmissions.com/dimensions.html Try calling the guys at the web site I linked above. They might be able to help you.

BirdmanZ
I have a Z32 trans in my car and was hoping that i could put a shifter in place of that cover. Long story short, I couldn't and i would bet that you can't either or at least not easily. What i did was shorten all the external shift linkage to make it fit into my car. Brandon yea was just seeing if any1 had made one before or if something standard bolted in how did you go about hooking a speed to that box i cant seem to see a pick up for a speedo on the box
BirdmanZ
The Z32 trans uses a vehicle speed sensor instead of a mechanical cable. I have no speedometer as of yet but i plan on buying an autometer speedo that works off of a VSS.
HowlerMonkey
If you want a shifter where the plate is, use the pathfinder stuff. I'm building a L28et in a infinity M30 and are using the shiftter coming out of the cover. Who needs a short shifter when you can have a long shifter and be really cool? HowlerMonkey
I got my tranny from a 2 wheel drive pathfinder and it uses a shifter that comes in where the plate is but some things need to be added as well as changed if I wanted to mount the shifter where it is for a Z32 (1990-1996).
