JustinOlson
I'm looking for a set of slicks for next season. I currently have a set of 15X7" wheels. Can I run a 28X9" slick on these wheels, or are they too narrow? I'm set on running a 28" slick as I haven't been able to find the 3.36:1 R&P that Z-gad is running. These 28's should be enough for low 9's I hope. Regards, Justin
JustinOlson
I found JNJ has ran this size in the past. I'm curious if they used a 8" rim or not:
Brad-ManQ45
Mickey Thompson's site states that rims can be +/- 1" from the measured rim width used. In the case of this size, an 8" rim was used, so you should be ok...
jnjdragracing
Yes we run 15x7 inch rims with a 4.5 inch back spacing....... So far they have been good for us, a 9.21 in the 1/4 mile. We do want to run 15x8 with the same back spacing one day, but have other things to fix first.
JustinOlson
I've been reading over the the NMRA boards that the ford guys have gone low 8's on a 275/60-15 mickey thompson radial. That is freakin nutty to me Seems like a good tire to start on, so thats what I've chosen for those that care. I know the JNJ guys have played with this tire a bit with mixed results. I'm hoping that I can make it work to get me started. Nothing cooler then going fast on a small tire and IRS Justin
