sorealsosurreal Posted November 5, 2007 Share Posted November 5, 2007 i asked someone where i would be able to pickup a rebuild kit for the tranny that is in the JDM sr20 and i was told it is the same tranny as in the 240sx in america except with different gearing. is this true and if so if i pick up a rebuild kit for a 240sx trans will i be able to use it in the sr20 trans? thanks! Careless Posted November 5, 2007 Share Posted November 5, 2007 FS5W71C is the codename for the transmission. it is in fact the same transmission, however, the gear ratios are different for either of the RB20, SR20, CA18, and KA24 tranmissions behind the bell-housing, they are all the same, except for the gear ratios.
